* There is some loss of pressure when using a Retractable Hose Reel with water supplied from a tank. Used in conjunction with a pump, pressure may be sufficient for normal use, however you should take this into consideration before purchasing. If pressure is very low, a regular hose may be more suitable.

Q. Where is the Evolve™ Series Retractable Hose Reel made/manufactured?
A. Right here in Sydney, Australia. The Evolve™ Hose Reel includes some imported components, like the hose, spring, hose connectors and spray gun. However, all plastic injection-moulded parts of the Evolve™ Reel are designed, moulded and assembled right here in Australia.
Q. Why is the Evolve™ Retractable Hose Reel more expensive than the Classic Reel?
A. Although both premium retractable hose reels, the Evolve™ Series Reel has been enhanced with industry-leading technology, upgraded with high-quality materials, and rigorously tested to outperform its competitors – all of which significantly increase the lifespan of the reel. And don’t forget the extended 5-year warranty and 6 replaceable parts for simplified self-repairs at home. So, for a slightly higher upfront cost, you’re getting many more years of use.
Do I need to purchase any additional products to use the Evolve™ Series Reel?
A. No, the Evolve™ Series Retractable Hose Reel comes with everything you need to install and use it right away. That includes our patented no-leak hose fittings, an enhanced Comfort 8-Pattern Flow Control Sprayer, a stopper ball, a mounting bracket and additional hardware to mount your reel. Even better, the hardware pack now also includes a Phillips head drill bit to make installation even easier! If you want to connect any other attachments to your Evolve™ Hose Reel, it may be a good idea to add a Hoselink Adapter Pack to your purchase. That way, you’re covered for every eventuality.
Q. Can I put my existing hose in the Evolve™ Reel?
A. No, you won’t be able to use your own hose – and there’s no need, as the Evolve™ Retractable Hose Reel comes fitted with a premium hose designed specifically for the reel.
Q. Which hose from your range comes with the Evolve™ Series Reel?
A. The Evolve™ Retractable Hose Reel has its own unique hose, specifically designed to work seamlessly with the features and systems of the unit.
Q. Does the Evolve™ Reel hose ever kink?
A. The Evolve™ Reel’s hose has been specifically designed for use in an auto rewind hose reel unit, and ,therefore, must be soft and pliable enough to retract back into the unit with ease. This means that, by default, it's not quite as kink-resistant as some other hoses, such as our Superflex Garden Hoses. That said, using a hose reel greatly reduces the chance of a kink occurring at all. A hose reel uses the exact length of hose needed for the task at hand, so there’s no extra hose hanging around for tangles or kinks to occur. In addition, the Evolve™ Hose Reel’s groundbreaking Precision Layering System has been engineered with 6 guidance rollers – compared to 2 in most brands – to carefully retract your hose in a straight line so it doesn’t get twisted (a common cause of kinks).
Q. My tap is 3m away from where I need to put my new Evolve™ Series Reel. What can I do?
A. Don’t worry – you can simply add an additional length of hose to the leader hose to reach your water supply. You’ll just need a suitable length of hose fitted with Hoselink connectors on either end. We sell ready made Leader Hose Extensions in 1.5m and 5m lengths, pre-fitted with connectors for your convenience. Alternatively, if you already have a suitable hose length you’d like to use, you can buy our Hose Joiner Set here.
Q. Does the Evolve™ Retractable Hose Reel have to be mounted?
A. Yes, because the Evolve™ Hose Reel relies on tension for retraction and extension, the unit must be mounted to a solid wall or stable post.

Q. If I want to mount the Evolve™ Reel onto a post, how deep should the post be into the ground?
A. The required post depth depends on a number of factors – like how hard-packed the soil is and how much concrete is used. Our best recommendation for a safe depth would be 0.3m, before pouring the concrete in. We suggest making the hole 30cm square (which would mean roughly a 30cm x 30cm cube of concrete) to hold enough concrete to keep the post firmly in place. For the post itself? You can’t go wrong with Hoselink's Evolve Retractable Mounting Post.
Q. Can I use the Evolve™ Retractable Hose Reel with hot water?
A. No, the Evolve™ Series Reel is not designed for use with hot water (besides, your plants won’t like it!) The maximum water temperature recommended is 40 degrees (40°C).
Q. Can I leave the tap turned on at all times?
A. We recommend turning the water off at the tap and releasing the water pressure at the end of each watering session. The increased pressure from the water may cause unnecessary wear to the internal mechanism of the Evolve™ Reel, and potentially shorten the lifespan. Plus, being mindful of your water usage is far better for the planet!
Q. I already have a Classic Hose Reel cover, padlock and additional wall bracket, can these be used with the Evolve™ Retractable Hose Reel?
A. If you have an existing wall bracket, padlock or cover, these are not compatible with the Evolve™ Hose Reel. The Evolve™ Reel comes with its own wall bracket (designed to the same template, so you won’t need to drill any new screw holes), and we also sell additional Evolve™ brackets if you’d like to mount your reel in more than one location. You can find compatible padlocks on our website, and covers will be available soon, too.
Q. Does the Evolve™ Retractable Hose Reel have a Hi-Flow setting?
A. It does not. However, thanks to its new and improved water inlet design, the Evolve™ Hose Reel has a 22% stronger water flow compared to our Classic Reel (depending on your existing water pressure).
Would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t leaking out of the box. Customer services was great, sent me a new accessory connector and thank God! It didn’t leak again.

I have two of these at my property and my son is currently building his first home. As as a special birthday gift I felt it was essential for him to start out with a good product to set him up for an outstanding product he will use while creating his new garden.
