The Hoselink smart home Wi-Fi Gateway device:

  • Plugs into a standard power point outlet

Reason the product is recalled

Due to a manufacturing fault, the product can short circuit.

The hazards to consumers

Risk of death or serious injury and/or property damage from electric shock or fire. Incidents have occurred.

What consumers should do

  1. Stop using the product immediately.
  2. Switch off power at the power point outlet and disconnect product from the power supply.
  3. Hoselink is contacting affected customers by email to arrange for a refund or replacement product.

How to Get Your Refund or Replacement

To resolve this, please choose one of the two options below to receive your choice of a full refund or a working replacement.

Option 1

Return the Unit (Free of Charge)

If you prefer to return the unit to us, we will provide a pre-paid shipping label.

  1. Notify Us

    Contact us and let us know you wish to return the item.

  2. Provide Your Details

    Please include your Name and Order Number and specify if you would like a refund or a replacement. Working replacements will be available from mid to late May, to be sent out once stock is received.

  3. Pack & Label

    Box up the unit. Australia Post will email you a pre-paid return label with instructions on how to lodge the parcel. Please allow 1-2 business days to receive your return label.

  4. Confirm Lodgement

    Once you drop the parcel off at Australia Post, let us know. We will then fast-track your refund. Replacements will be sent once new stock arrives.

Note: If you don't notify us of the lodgement, we will process your request once the unit arrives at our warehouse.

Option 2

Safe Disposal (E-Waste)

Because this unit is electronic, it must not be placed in your regular household garbage.

  1. Dispose

    Take the unit to a local e-waste drop-off point, such as a Council site, Community Recycling Centre (CRC), or a participating retail outlet.

    You can find your nearest site at Recycle Mate. Enter your address and bin information. For item, search 'Wi-Fi Repeater'.

  2. Confirm Disposal

    Take a photo of the faulty unit being disposed of at a suitable site.

  3. Notify Us

    Once disposed of, contact us to advise and attach the image of disposal to confirm the safe disposal of the faulty unit.

  4. Provide Your Details

    Please include your Name and Order Number and specify if you would like a refund or a replacement. Working replacements will be available from mid to late May, to be sent out once stock is received.

  5. Refund / Replacement

    Upon receiving your reply and confirming safe disposal, we will process your request.
