If you’re anything like us, you love having your fury friends in the garden. What you may not know, is that a lot of the fertilisers and pesticides we use to keep our garden looking lush and healthy, are also very harmful if ingested by our pets. In this blog, we’ll discuss Hoselink’s Australian Made Fertiliser range, which is not only organic but also pet and child friendly.

Is organic fertiliser safe for my dog?
In short, Hoselink’s Fertilisers shouldn’t cause harm to your pet!
The same rules apply to all Hoselink’s Fertiliser range; once diluted with water, the mixture is safe for dogs and children to be around it or come into contact with it. We recommend keeping your pets and kids off the lawn or out of the garden for a few hours after fertilising, mainly to avoid them picking up any of the liquid on their paws, hands or feet and then tracking it through the house. However, as the fertiliser range is organic, it is not harmful to animals or people's health in small or diluted amounts. Unfortunately, many fertilisers on the market currently can cause your pet to become unwell with symptoms like vomiting, lethargy or abdominal pain if they ingest it. They can also cause their skin to become irritated.
Hoselink has three products that make up its proudly Australian-made fertiliser collection. The first of three is Garden Fertiliser. This one is an all-rounder in your garden; it can be used on plants old and new, fruit, vegetables, pot plants or raised garden beds. It will ultimately act as food for your plants. The next fertiliser in the line-up is Hoselink’s Plant Health Seaweed Tonic, this is like a medicine for your plants, great for transplant shock or a little pick me up when your plant isn’t looking too well. To make the application process as easy as possible, Hoselink makes a Fertiliser Spray Mixer! This will simply connect to your Hoselink ecosystem via an Accessory Connector (included with purchase). The Fertiliser Spray Mixer doesn’t require pre-mixing and is also fitted with a trigger handle, making it ideal for people who cannot use a pump-style bottle due to arthritis.

Retractable Hose Reel

Hoselink’s Misting Kit is perfect for this; with 15 metres of length, it is both easily installed and big enough to cover a patio, greenhouse or outdoor area big enough for both plants and pets to be kept hydrated and cool. Pet Bowl
Hoselink’s Pet Bowl has been designed for dogs, chickens, cats and birds alike. Designed to be used outside, it will allow for a constant water supply to be readily available for your pet, as the float detects when they take a drink and will refill the bowl. This product easily connects to your existing Hoselink ecosystem as it connects via an Accessory Connector which is included with the purchase. A Universal Tap Connector is also included for your convenience. It can also be purchased with or without a leader hose. If you don’t wish to connect it to a hose, you can also use a plastic P.E.T water bottle which will work almost the same way. The Pet Bowl has been designed with a non-slip base to ensure it doesn’t slide on any surfaces. If you happen to be a fan of camping, the pet bowl has been designed with spots for tent pegs in case you're on the move and want to ensure the bowl stays put. Curved edges make it easy to clean, not to mention some parts can be removed to ensure thorough cleaning.
