Hoses frequently asked questions

Is 30 metres the longest garden hose you have?

Yes, our longest hose is 30 metres - this applies to Retractable Hose Reels and the Ultraflex garden hose.

Garden hoses can be extended if required. Hoses fitted with Hoselink Hose End fittings can easily couple together to get the length you need, thanks to the no-burst nature of our hose connectors.

Some customers even opt to use our Retractable Hose Reel Leader Hose Extensions, to extend short distances of up to 5 metres.

Can I join a Hoselink hose to one of my other 'click-on' style hoses?

In order to attach a 'click on' hose to a Hoselink hose, you will need to replace the click on end with a standard Hoselink Hose end connector so you can couple the hoses together.

What's the best way to store a garden hose?

We recommend storing your hose in large loops over a hose hanger. This will make it easier to retrieve the hose for its next use and help prevent it from twisting. Hoselink sells a range of hose holders to suit the style of your home.

What’s included in a Water Wise Starter Set?

A water wise starter set gives you the essentials to begin watering: a garden hose and a full set of Hoselink Fittings. The hose is pre-fitted with Hoselink connectors (Hose End and Flow Control), and includes a tap connector to join it to your tap, and Accessory Connector with Swivel and a spray gun. The UltraFlex High Performance Garden Hose + Starter Set, for example, pairs our 5-layer hose with a fittings and spray gun, ready to use out of the box

Do the hoses come with fittings already attached?

Our UltraFlex hose come pre-fitted with Hoselink Hose End Connectors, so they twist straight onto the Hoselink system with no extra fittings to buy. Our Drinking Water Hoses are supplied without fittings, which can be purchased separately.

What size starter set should I choose?

Hose starter sets come in 10m, 20m and 30m lengths. Measure from your tap to the farthest spot you need to reach and add a little extra. If you need more length later, Hoselink hoses can be joined together using their Hoselink Hose End Connectors.

Can I build my own starter set instead?

Yes. You can pair any Hoselink hose with a Tap to Hose Connector Set & Hose to Accessory Set (with flow control) and the spray gun, nozzle or sprinkler that suits your garden. Because everything uses the same Hoselink connection, the parts you choose all twist together with a secure, leak-free join.

What’s the difference between a soaker hose and a weeper hose?

A soaker hose has holes along its length and sprays water outwards, a bit like a sprinkler - good for nature strips and long garden sections. A weeper hose slowly “weeps” water directly into the ground beneath it, so it’s ideal for garden beds, can be buried under mulch and helps conserve water.

Can I join two Hoselink hoses together?

Easily. All our hoses come pre-fitted with Hoselink Hose End Fittings, so joining two is as simple as lining up the fittings and twisting. This lets you extend your reach without buying a whole new hose.
