Helpful additions to the Hose Reel Backing Board | Classic Series
The Hose Reel Backing Board provides the perfect solution for mounting your new Classic Hose Reel onto weatherboard.
To avoid damaging the bracket and to make sure the bracket is mounted securely to hold the weight of the reel, it needs to be installed on a flat surface. Weatherboard has always presented an issue in this regard. Being by its very nature, not flat.
Well that issue is now a thing of the past. The Hose Reel Backing will act as the flat surface for the bracket.
The Backing Board itself is first mounted to a framing stud behind the weatherboard, and then the Hose Reel Bracket is mounted directly to the Backing Board. Providing a secure and flat mounting point for your reel.

Due to the shape of the bracket, the Evolve™ Series of hose reels have their own backing board which acts in the same way. You can find them here.

Tools: Stud finder, Electric drill, 3mm and 5mm drill bit, Philips head drill bit, 10mm socket set |

Weatherboard: Locate the framing stud. Using the the two central holes of the backing board as a template, drill two pilot holes with the 3mm drill bit. Mount the Backing board using the two included stainless steel screws. Using the four outer holes of the backing board as a template, drill four pilot holes with the 5mm drill bit. Mount the Hose Reel Bracket onto the Backing Board with the 10mm socket, using the hardware included with the Hose Reel. |
