Step by step guide:

• Open the top of the box and squeeze the clip on the black feeder arm to disengage the guidance tooth from the spindle. 
• Once you have pulled the hose all the way out, ensure the feeder arm is on the far-left-hand side of the box to align with the hose. 
• Push the black feeder arm back down to click and secure it into place. 
• Use the crank handle to wind the hose into the box evenly. 

If you are experiencing leaking from the leader hose, please refer to steps four and five of the Metal Hose Reel Box Manual (click HERE) to ensure all the correct steps have been followed. 

It sounds like the hose guide is out of alignment causing the hose to tangle and overlap. Please refer to the hose cart assembly video below and skip to 5:45 to show how to correctly align the hose and guide.
