FAQs | C2030BGAF | Hose End Connector | Gen 2

Q. What is the difference between the Gen 2 and Gen 1 Connectors?
A. Gen 2 connectors have been redesigned from the ground up and are now made and assembled in Australia. They’re lighter, more compact, and tested to be stronger and more durable than Gen 1. Every Gen 2 connector also has a new o-ring that’s held in place, so it won’t fall out.

The Gen 2 Hose End Connector also has a removable stem. You fit the stem into your hose first, so you can see it’s fully seated before you attach the connector.

Q. Are the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Connectors compatible?
A. Yes. Gen 1 and Gen 2 connectors have the same connector face, so you can mix and match them freely.

Q. Which hoses does it fit?
A. It’s designed for standard 12mm (1/2") garden hose, measured across the inside of the hose. It won’t fit 18mm (3/4") or other sizes.

Q. How do I remove the Hose End Connector from my hose?
A.

  1. Unscrew the nut and pull the connector off, leaving the stem and white split ring on the hose.
  2. Use a flat-head screwdriver to lever the split ring a few centimetres back along the hose.
  3. Dip the hose end, with the stem still in it, into a cup of hot water for about a minute to soften the hose.
  4. Tip out the water. Hold the stem firmly, or stand on it, and pull the hose straight off.

Q. Can I use a Hose End Connector to connect two hoses?
A. Yes. Fit a Hose End Connector to each hose, then join them with a simple point and twist.
